This paper aims to demonstrate several parts to improvise and suggest changes to city planning to cope with the predicted climate change in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The solutions are not only limited to Dhaka- these apply to any megacity or growing city in the world, to a variable extent. With climate change progressing, many cities need suitable adaptations to survive in the new world order and to reduce the disastrous effects due to climate change, especially those in developing countries. The current challenges due to climate change are studied, along with actions taken to combat these issues. Next, the possible future impacts of climate change are reviewed based on predictions made from analyzing climate trends in Dhaka and Bangladesh. The implementation of urban coordination, decentralization, and Blue-Green infrastructure is considered. Finally, three project proposals are given, which can initiate small-scale development in the combat against climate change in Dhaka.
